About

Reform UK are now the official opposition in Mendip Ward BaNES and, if independent polling is to be believed, across the Nation.

Locally so far we have…

  1. During campaigning, caused the Lib Dems to promise not to remove the protected bus lay-bys in Temple Cloud which was due to be removed as part of the Chew Valley Links plan (1.7.25);
  2. Reduced the number of voters supporting the Lib Dems in the by-election from 824 (2023) to 496 (3.7.25).
  3. Challenged the Lib Dems to act swiftly to make the Temple Bridge n/b bus stop safer (6.7.25); Caused the Lib Dems to agree to meet with residents to discuss action; Caused the neighbouring Lib Dem councillor to investigate why action was not taken sooner (8.7.25);
  4. Challenged BaNES Liveable Neighbourhood Team at the Village hall, about their Liveable Neighbourhood Plan (22.07.25);
  5. Taken a seat on the non-political Temple Cloud Parish Council to ensure our perspective is represented (22.07.25);

Personally I have…

  1. Set up this blog as a tool to monitor the issues that are important to me and those I meet, both locally and sometimes nationally. It’s also a way of my developing my own opinions and policy ideas. Important because I promise to listen.
  2. Provided regular challenge to our Lib Dem MP Wera Hobhouse via her facebook page. Very occasionally we agree.
